Iryna came into Spiritual Care through personal experience of illness and study of nursing, philosophy, psychology and theology. She has studied nursing in Lviv, Ukraine, philosophy in Lublin, Poland, theology and psychology in Ottawa, ON and in Toronto, ON.
Iryna has finished her residency at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto in 2003 and since has worked in multiple clinical settings, with special interest in psychiatry, trauma, resiliency and emergency. She has presented on the topic of spirituality in healthcare at different national conferences (Mental Health and CASC) and has been actively involved in on-going education with Healthcare Disciplines. Iryna has become a manager at Sinai Health System in 2017 and has brought SPE education to the institution in 2019.
Iryna focuses spiritual care education on supporting development of spiritual care identity, identifying and claiming the voice of spiritual care practitioner and gaining strong collaboration skills in health care settings.
Iryna is married with two children, loves reading and sunshine.
